Please look out for the blue document wallet that contains the 2023 iPad Handbook that will be distributed during transition afternoon, Monday 5th December. On the front of the document wallet, will be your child's MIS ID and password that you will require to complete the set-up. Here is a snapshot of what is new:
WHAT’S NEW IN 2023
2023 iPad program information and set up instructions can be found in the 2023 iLearn@Algester iPad Handbook. All students will receive a printed copy of the handbook along with their MIS login details. Students MUST be enrolled into Intune to access Wi-Fi and all Apps provided by Algester State School.
Algester State School will:
- provide all Core and Year Level Apps for all students
- use the Department of Education’s, Intune mobile device management (MDM) for all devices
- continue to supply shared equity devices to ensure every child has access to a device.
Parents / Carers will:
- NOT be required to purchase any apps
- supply an iPad for your child to use
- download and enrol your child into Intune
- set up your child’s iPad as per the instructions in this handbook.
Algester State School has a shared iPad program. This means that we use iPads for learning in every classroom in a combination of Bring Your Own Devices (BYOD) and shared iPads provided by the school for students. There is an expectation that all students enrolling at Algester State School will provide a BYO iPad and the school will provide loan iPads for students to share when this cannot occur. School loaned iPads cannot be taken home. It is our experience that the best learning occurs for personally owned iPads and not shared devices.
