The school hosts an Open Day for parents each year. We open up our classrooms for parents to view how teaching takes place in contemporary classrooms. We also offer training for our parents. The following schedule was the program for our Open Day in 2019 and the day for 2020 is expected to have a similar format:
iLearn for Parents:
- 9:00 a.m.– 9:20 a.m. Guest Speaker, Linda Pitt (from Apple Education) to open the day, Enterprise Video showing the use of iPads in the Qld Police Force
- 9:30 a.m. – 11:10 a.m. Open Classrooms
- 11:10 a.m. – 11:50 a.m. Morning Tea (Coffee Van available)
- 11:50 a.m. – 1:10 p.m. Inspiration Stations (Hands on experiences for parents)
- End of Open Day Sessions
- 3:15 p.m. – 4:15 p.m. Repeat of Inspiration Stations (for parents who couldn't attend earlier)
You are most welcome to attend any or all part of the day. We will issue you an invitation via an App so you can register for the day. All folk who register for the day go into a draw for a Apple Watch compliments of the Algester State School P&C Association.
