Kids Hope Program
This new Program runs under the banner of Kids Hope Australia and provides trained mentors to support students who would benefit from the stable mentorship of a trustworthy and reliable adult in their lives. The Algester Anglican Church is paying the associated fees for the program on behalf of the school and providing the trained mentors. The
students will spend one hour a week with their mentor engaging in games,
lunchtime activities, crafts and some academic work. Referral to the Program is made by the school through recommendations from the Student Services Team.

Algester & Parkinson Lions Club Qld Day
The Algester & Parkinson Lions Club hosts an annual Qld Day Festival on the school grounds each year around Queenland Day. This is a popular event with the wider community and there are lots of stalls, rides for children and entertainment. The school puts on a display each year and for the past few years we have focussed this on our STEM Program demonstrating the exciting activities our children are undertaking with technology in our classrooms. The P&C Association has a food stall and the school choirs also perform. It is a wonderful community day for which the Algester & Parkinson Lions Club have received awards for the professional and engaging manner in which they organise the event.
