Arts Enhancement
As part of our commitment to maximising
student achievement, students who are achieving highly in particular academic
areas are identified to access enhancement
programs. These programs mean that students are withdrawn from class for a
session each week to work with a teacher on individual and group activities to
further develop their abilities to their full potential. Algester’s creative students are selected to take part in the Arts Enhancement Program or Drama to develop their abilities in The Arts.
Drama Enhancement Program
The Drama Enhancement Program
is offered to aspiring actors in Years 2 - 6. The program
runs for 8 weeks and seeks to develop the students acting, creative thinking
and performance skills. This is achieved through intensive coaching and
participation in Improvisation, Theatre Sports and Drama Games. The students
are also involved in the creating, shaping and rehearsing of a Drama
piece for a whole school event.
Visual Art Enhancement
During Terms Two and Three, groups of Year 2 - Year 6
students focus on skill development across the elements of line,
colour, tone, texture and shape.
They create numerous pieces using mixed media. All students show a keen interest in this program to develop into talented artists. Their pieces will be on display through out the school.
