At Algester State School, students with disability are provided with support based on their needs and in consultation with parents or carers. Students receive varying degrees of support from the classroom teacher, Special Education teachers and teacher aides. The support from Special Education staff may occur directly within the classroom, or as a collaborative process between teachers during planning and review processes. As required, students will have access to specialist support programs outside of regular classrooms to cater for their individual learning needs. This may include intensive literacy and numeracy support, social skills and life skills. Ongoing case management and monitoring for all students will occur to ensure equitable access to all facets of the educational experience are maintained. The aim is for students to be included as fully as possible in regular programs, while providing personalised support that meets individual needs.

The Department of Education's vision is that every student succeeds and receives the support they need to belong to the school community, engage purposefully in learning and experience academic success. The 'Every student with disability succeeding' plan commits to high expectations, building capacity of school staff to meet needs of diverse learners and developing partnerships with parents.
