At Algester, we have a number of policies. Some are unique to our school and others comply with the Education Act which outlines policies for all Queensland Schools.
When parents enrol their children, they are required to sign agreements to a number of policies including an Enrolment Agreement.
Responsible Behaviour Plan
Responsible Behaviour Plan for Students (PDF, 2.7MB) has been developed with our school community. It is designed to facilitate high standards of behaviour so that quality teaching and learning can take place in our school. As part of this plan the good behaviour of our students are acknowledged and rewarded with special tokens known as Success Key Cards.
School rewards shop
From the commencement of 2019, the school will introduce a Rewards Shop for the children to redeem the awards they have earned for good behaviour. Each key success card the students receives counts towards their individual tally which can be exchanged for a number of items from the shop.

The following is an example of a Car Bumper Sticker which is one of the awards.
Our school believes that the working environment for students and staff should be safe and free from violence, harassment and bullying of any kind. Bullying, violence and harassment are not tolerated because they infringe on our fundamental rights to safety and fair treatment.
The school has a specific anti-Bullying Policy and this can be found as an Appendix to the
Responsible behaviour plan for students (PDF, 2.7MB).
The school also uses the
High 5 Tool (PDF, 519KB) to support anti-bullying.
